During the 2016 MLB season I gathered data on catcher pick off attempts at first base (i.e. back picks) with the help of many fans and writers on Twitter. I used the data for an analysis in the Hardball Times Annual, which you can buy here. I’ll also be writing some additional posts using the data throughout the winter, which I’ll link to as they happen.
