New English D is the creation of Neil Weinberg, a Detroit Tigers fan living in Lansing, Michigan. After years of spending the summers at Comerica Park, he spent three years writing about the Tigers and MLB from Chapel Hill, North Carolina before returning home. He’s previously written for FanGraphs, The Hardball Times, Beyond the Box Score, Gammons Daily, and The Athletic Detroit. While this site aims to combine sabermetric analysis with the leisurely pleasures of watching baseball, the motivations behind its inception are also personal and a full essay on the why he started the site can be found here.
